On 16 October 2008, after the cry of alarm raised by Roberto Saviano, Genoa was the first Italian city to organize, at the instigation Laboratory 8, a public reading of Gomorrah as a sign of solidarity and participation to what is happening in Casal di Principe and Campania.
Participation in this event and the interest it has generated have exceeded all expectations and proved that the organizers Genova - City of Rights - has a capital commitment and passion that brought the forefront in supporting those who fight crime organized in spite of everything, often risking their lives.
The real challenge of Gomorrah, however, exceeds the bounds of Casal di Principe and Campania. In fact, the same crosses the boundaries of the regions where organized crime is a daily presence, which stifles civic life, economic and political.
It 's a challenge addressed to all Italian citizens who claim to legality, transparency, equal rights and duties are an everyday practice as well as a requirement of law, to demand it right where it is more difficult to do, at home, in their community, where it is necessary to "put the face, where it would be easier to turn a blind eye and expect that others close to us, where if the words do not follow the facts sooner or later everyone will come to know.
The measure of our ability to meet this challenge will be the height of the standard of legality, transparency and democracy that we decide to impose on our city, our neighborhoods and then, ultimately, ourselves.
So we thought there was no need for a laboratory listen to the advice of those who struggle daily against organized crime and where we learn to do in life everyday.
The first meeting is scheduled for Friday, April 24 in Genoa, auditorium of the Palazzo Rosso 18.30
Are you sure none of your business?
